I am so behind on watching throwdown it's not even funny so NO SPOILERS please!
I could make up excuses for not watching it sooner but in reality, I just feel it's a little too close to home. A part of my income is made through pottery and I felt like I couldn't watch it until I had gotten back on the wheel myself this year. I don't know about you by I'm really great at avoiding things and at procrastinating. A lethal combo which means that I excel at putting stuff off and feeling the fear of doing just that!
So my thoughts on episode one? Well.... I loved it, of course I did, why do I put off watching a show that I adore, that gives me all the feels and makes me want to create? For the first time ever there are TWO potters that I follow on Instagram, so I'm obviously already rooting for them. I've never heard of any contestants before so this was super exciting. I have sadly had to mute their accounts for fear of spoilers - even more reason to get up to date.
I really liked the soup terrine set, what a beautiful thing to design and make. I would have based my design on crisp coastal walks. What I really want to know is how did they glaze and fire those ladels? Were they unglazed on the bottom?
Oh and they throwdown - making a pot with a galley, wow, that looked hard and fun and something I really want to try, I've never seen that technique before. I hope that one day, my potting looks as effortless as Keiths.
Right, I'm off to watch episode two...
